Maiko Zine is a SFW fanzine focused on our favorite disillusioned Fire Nation duo: Mai and Zuko. There will be two sections: an in-universe section that follows their relationship from childhood acquaintances to friends to lovers, and an out-universe section containing Maiko containing all your favorite AUs and crossovers.

What is a Fanzine?

A fanzine is typically a book of artwork and writing curated by several people.

What are the zine specs?

If there is enough interest, we will produce a physical perfect-bound, 120-ish page A5 book with a matte cover, potential foil upgrade on the cover.

How many contributors will be accepted?

Total: 36 contributors + 4 Mods = 40 people
*Numbers subject to change depending on interest check and application turnout.

Are other ships besides Maiko allowed in the zine?

They may be mentioned in passing or appear in the background but Maiko must remain the clear focus of every submission.

Is there a minimum age to participate?

Contributors must be at least 16 years of age at the time of application to participate in the project.

Will you be accepting mod interns?

Not for this project, sorry!

Is this for profit or for charity?

Currently undecided.

If there are less 100 sales by the end of pre-orders, all profits leftover will be donated to charity. The chosen charity will be determined internally by majority vote. Any contributor or mod may propose a charity. Decision will be announced publicly.

If there are more than 100 sales by the end of pre-orders, we will hold an internal vote to decide 100% for charity, 100% even split among contributors, or a combination of both.

If any portion of profits get split among contributors, participants under the age of 18 will only receive a physical zine/bundle as compensation.
